Dear Deandre Hamilton and Kenny Caughlin,
The bible book of Proverbs in its sixth chapter tells us of a number of things hated by our Lord.
Kenny, first I must say that I verily believe that you have nothing to do with the lambasting of the PNP leadership in a story that aired on your station but I feel you must be held accountable by virtue of your station being associated with the story. Guilty by association, but otherwise a fairly good guy.
Now back to the Bible, and the Bible thumping scribe in the person of Deandre, and while the profession of a scribe has almost completely disappeared, being broken up in to a number of sub professions, Deandre’s primitive style of action in recent days can only be attributed to that of a medieval scribe.
After numerous failed efforts to see the demise of local TCI government, Deandre appears to now taking fresh aim and with more unsubstantiated facts. Dee, my friend, the TCI is small enough and everyone is accessible enough for you to at least make one phone call and find out if the copy you write is worthy of being read.
The blatant, ludicrous, preposterous and nonsensical story of a planned vote of no confidence against the Premiere of the TCI is in my personal view, nothing more and nothing less than an effort on your part to sow discord amongst brethren.
The bible says in Proverbs 6, “These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.”
Let me be the first to inform you that Hon. Dr. Rufus Washington Ewing enjoys the full and undivided support and confidence of the Progressive National Party. Non else have indicated in any way shape or form, any intention or desire to challenge or even question his leadership and his mandate to lead the people of the TCI. The PNP remains steadfast in its support of our Premier and committed to the fulfillment of the 2012 PNP manifesto and the development and advancement of the TCI.
It is somewhat sad that in the not too distant past, persons like yourself mysteriously obtained TCI Belonger status, and while it is none of my business, I trust that the Special Investigation and Prosecution Team would spare a few minutes to investigate your pathway to United Kingdom Overseas Territory citizenship and TCI Belongership.
FYI. The Progressive National Party remains the Government of the TCI by a majority vote in a general election, but while democracy reigns, ethics in journalism must prevail above the need to release breaking (and in your case shaking) news. The TCI is now just clawing its way back to its rightful place, and stories such as yours, will only serve to lessen our chances of economic recovery buy indicating possible political unrest.
Journalist like W. Blythe Duncanson have devoted their entire life to building a reputable press sector in this country and we cannot allow reckless individuals to destroy it in a day, then hop the next plane to wherever.
Finally I must say that while the PNP is open to hearing and responding to the will of the people of the TCI, the party is in no way open to being railroaded by limelight seeking scribes exploiting every available opportunity in an effort to bring about self relevance.
Thanking you in advance for your gracious understand,
I remain
Devon Williams
