The Turks and Caicos Women’s National Team travel to the Dominican Republic this week to compete in what is expected to be an exciting test of wills for the local team. The competition, the 2010 CONCACAF Women's Gold Cup - Phase 1, will see Team TCI play in Group D with the Dominican Republic and Haiti.

The newly established Central Storage Women's league has entered its third week and at the half way stage, each team has shown signs that they are capable of winning the league; albeit Five Cays FC and Leeward Knights are considered slight favourites. The league is comprised of four teams.

Last week saw the start of the popular U20 Girls Football league. Now in its second year, the league, sponsored by Central Storage gives an opportunity to young female players to participate against each other on a regional basis. On Sunday, January 24, the TCI Haitian All-Stars team gained victory over the AFC Academy U-20 team 8-1, in a charity football game that was seen by hundreds of spectators at the National Stadium on Providenciales. The Turks and Caicos Islands Football Association hosted the event in aid of the Red Cross Haiti Appeal.
