The teammates of the Turks and Caicos Islands Football Association (TCIFA) under-9 soccer side can hold their heads high after reaching the semi-final of their first ever competitive soccer tournament. Team TCI were the only unbeaten under-9 side in the event’s group stages, winning all three games.

Some of the Turks and Caicos Islands’ top eight and nine year old footballers will be representatives of the country at an international soccer competition next weekend 14-18 February 2014. They will take part in the AS Roma President’s Day Weekend tournament at the ESPN World Wide of Sports.

Six kiteboarders completed the first ever non-stop kiteboard crossing of the Atlantic Ocean, a one way trip of well over 4,000 miles. The team departed November 20, 2013, from Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands to cross the Atlantic Ocean en route to the Blue Haven Resort and Marina.

Audley Astwood, son of the late Alex and Elaine Astwood of Grand Turk, was elected president of the Caribbean Regional Badminton Confederation (CAREBACO) in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on Saturday, September 14. Astwood said he plans to give more players international exposure.
