The ministry of government support services has successfully relocated the container classrooms previously in use at the H.J. Robinson High School to the Ona Glinton Primary and the Eliza Simons Primary Schools to provide temporary classrooms until construction is completed on new classrooms.
With the completion of the new administration/classroom block at the H.J. Robinson High School, the container class rooms are no longer needed at the institution.
Minister for government support services, George Lightbourne has expressed his thanks to those members of staff and the public who came out to assist with the relocation. Lightbourne noted that, while it was a daunting task, he was very pleased with “the efforts shown by the Grand Turk community when their services were needed most.” He noted that the costs of moving these containers, though very expensive, were defrayed by the following caring and concerned business persons:
Lightbourne is sending a personal note of gratitude to Otis Morris and crew of Otis Construction, Ed Dickenson and his team of Olympic Construction, John Green and his crew; Clyde Holiday of Holiday Construction, Gillian Been, Fortis, and Mark McAulay of EMS.
“Through this spirit of unity, resilience and community service, Grand Turk will continue to propel to limitless heights,” the minister said.
