Provo resort offers fourth night free deal during 'Race for the Conch' eco-swim race weekend
Published on June 15, 2012 Email To Friend    Print Version

The Sands at Grace Bay is encouraging guests and travelers to take part in the third annual “Race for the Conch” – a one and 2.4-mile open water swim race scheduled for July 7, 2012, along the world-renowned Grace Bay Beach. With the resort’s current fourth night free offer -- valid for travel now through December 22, 2012 – plus roundtrip resort transfers to and from the race, The Sands at Grace Bay is the ideal place for race attendees and visitors supporting the event to stay.

The “Race for the Conch” – slated for Saturday, July 7 2012 -- will be the third annual open water swim race held in Providenciales. The eco-swim race was originally created to build awareness of the valuable ocean and reef systems surrounding the island, and race funds support local charities including Provo Children’s Home, the Department of Environment and Coastal Resources as well as TractorShare, a non-profit that provides tractors and related equipment to assist in Haiti recovery operations in Port-au-Prince.

Both the one-mile and the 2.4-mile ocean swim races are open to all recreational and competitive swimmers, and there is a separate 100 meters children’s “Race for the Conch” for swimmers 12 and younger.

For more information about the race including a course map, schedule, registration details, and charity information visit www.ecoseaswim.com
