Rev. Courtney Misick, a member of the Consultative Forum who resides in North Caicos, spoke out last week on his call-in show on PTV, saying that, in his opinion, the resignation of Clayton Greene as leader of the Progressive National Party (PNP) would serve the good of the country and the party.

“I am not saying Mr Greene is guilty; indeed, he is innocent until proven guilty,” said Misick.
“However, you must give a chance to whatever remains of the PNP party so that it can take a position and, along with the PDM, move this country into elections,” he added.
Misick mentioned the 2,500 acre land deal that included ownership of the now damaged causeway and which was purchased by a Miami developer represented by attorney at law Greene, who at the time was also Speaker of the House.
Misick then turned on the Peoples Democratic Movement (PDM) leader Derek Taylor, saying he has been silent since his election in November 2011.
“If you are not able or willing to speak and are just a figurehead, then let someone else speak for your party,” the outspoken pastor said.
Earlier on the show, Misick reflected on the rights of Turks and Caicos islanders being taken away by the British advisers. However, the pastor seemingly agreed with the close down of TCInvest, which he said was “nothing but a bunch of highly paid employees who have had little effect.”
Misick first emerged into the public eye at a North Caicos meeting dealing with the sale or lease of the North Caicos Kew farm to the now defunct Dellis Cay development. He was appointed to the Forum by former Governor Gordon Wetherell after the resignation of another Forum member.
The closure of TCInvest was a point that was raised last week by another PTV talk show host and man of the cloth, Rev. Conrad Howell.
Howell, a member of the TCI All Party Group and proclaimed supporter of the PNP, bemoaned the dissolution of TCInvest. Howell said he suspected that the reason behind the closing was that the British interim government did not want the people to know they were deterring inward investment. Howell spoke at length about the boom years of the Michael Misick administration when each household had members bringing in two or three incomes.
He did not, however, address the source of those incomes or why they have currently dried up. Also unaddressed were the numerous protests by Turks and Caicos Islanders looking for work during the Misick administration, when foreign workers poured into the country to build stadiums, two hospitals and resorts approved by the last PDM government and which had then reached the building phase.
Howell is well known for having composed the TCI National Song “This Land of Ours”.
