News from the Turks and Caicos Islands:

Letter: Is this British influence or British corruption?
Published on September 18, 2012 Email To Friend    Print Version

Dear Sir:

The incredibly false, intentionally misleading and damaging comments by Governor Ric Todd against the operators of the Caicos Conch Farm were difficult to understand, initially.

Governor Todd’s blatant disregard for the written contracts, commitments and obligations that the British Crown and the TCIG had agreed to in writing before his contrived appointment and arrival in the TCI as Governor, were incredibly puzzling because he intentionally torpedoed and closed the door on a well-researched, state-of-the-art and fully funded aquaculture project that needed nothing more to begin distributing jobs and $15,000,000 of a lender’s money than Crown and TCIG compliance with Crown and TCIG signed agreements.

This was not to be. Why?

Why would Governor Ric Todd intentionally damage a project that already had British Crown and TCIG written approval and was ready to begin?

Governor Todd’s actions and comments made no sense in view of his representations that the TCI was “open for business” and there was no other fully funded project as poised to begin spending money in the TCI.

Now we find that the owners of Leeward (Who owns Leeward?) are planning to engage in the same destructive dredging and cutting of the Leeward Channel through Princess Alexandra National Park to the reef that caused an environmental holocaust when the same actions illegally occurred in 2008.

Apparently the owners of Leeward (Who owns Leeward?) are quite confident that they will again persuade, induce or influence the TCI Planning Department and the British governor to give illegal approval again to a criminal act so that wealthy and influential developers and yacht owners will have access to the massive docks that now encroach 80% into the public water-way of Leeward Channel Going Through and someplace for those mega-yachts to pump-out their engine-room bilges and their vessel’s toilets.

Does the Queen have no shame? Does #10 Downing Street have no shame? Does the House of Lords have no shame?

Do any of them know who owns Leeward?
