Court decision against the governor to be appealed

The Attorney General’s Chambers has confirmed that it is to appeal the recent decision in what is known locally as the Albert Edwards case.

According to a statement by the AG’s Chambers on Wednesday, this move comes after a period of reflection in respect of the decision of the Court of Appeal rendered on 24 January 2013, which ruled that the governor had acted unlawfully in dismissing Albert Edwards from his position of chief auditor of the TCI.

“As this matter is now sub judice there will be no further statement or comment,” the statement said.
