By David Tapfer
He is at it again, our man from the other side of the sun. The Bajan legend, the self proclaimed social and political expert, man about town, endemic PNP and last but not least husband of Lillian Robinson Boyce... Mr Hayden Boyce.

He has written a classic condemnation of the current PDM leader from his personal point of view. Reinforced when he signs off as a Bajan-St Lucian. In fact, to my mind this is the only thing that makes sense in his whole editorial. Having visited both of Hayden’s home islands several times I found them as beautiful as he is crass. Why he left the Eastern Caribbean to pollute the Cayman Islands and later the TCI is a question in itself.
Was he exiled, as is his most recent deity, Michael the Archangel?
It is difficult to navigate through this editorial haze and hazing of things PDM, which appears to be written when he had a mad on. The point I guess is that Skippings should not have condemned the education department for replacing Clement Howells foreign principal with yet another foreigner in light of the fact that there are in fact qualified TC islanders able to hold that particular job.
This is where Boyce goes off track, putting words in the PDM chief’s mouth. He assumes that this one example is a whole policy of prejudice against anything not born on the soil of these small islands. This of course does not compute as Skippings has on numerous recent occasions made it clear he now embraces all races and nationalities.
The word’s the thing with this guy. I know from experience because shortly after I began to put pen to paper some years back he called me every name in the book on the pages of his rag. “Tapfer the slug is not a journalist,” he wrote. I agree about my journalistic limitations but then I have never claimed this honour.
I submit, however, that those who can lay claim to that title do not hurl insults and crude slams at the rate this man dishes it out.
Those who know me are aware I love music, with folk songs some of my favourites. I suggest that Mr Boyce follow the lead of “Puff the Magic Dragon” when Jackie Paper grew up and left his friend Puff.
Now that Boyce’s leader has self condemned himself to a life in the DR, Hayden like Puff needs to slowly slip back into his cave.
