Another Forum member resigns
Published on June 15, 2012 Email To Friend    Print Version

Dr Linda Williams has submitted her resignation from the Consultative Forum following the firing of Sharlene Cartwright Robinson and the resignation of Karen Delancy.

Williams says she might run for a parliamentary seat as an independent but has yet to make that decision. She gave no other reason for her resignation. Williams came from a poor family, excelled in school and has spent her life as an educator. She is married and resides in Grand Turk. She was appointed to the Forum by then Governor Gordon Wetherell when it was set up shortly after direct rule came to the islands in August 2009.

She has been an active member of the forum, having expressed her opinion on a number of important issues. She is also a business woman and has a food store on the capital island.
